This whimsical dish by Laurie Rolland can be used as a gravy boat or other pouring dish, or displayed as a decorative object on its own. The dish is glazed a glossy leafy green and accented with a curly "vine".
2 inches tall, 7 inches long, 5 inches wide.
Since 1997, Laurie Rolland has used the metaphor of the boat (vessel: container/protector) as an expressive vehicle. A deep reverence for the natural world, combined with an interest in ancient earth-based religions informs this work, for the boat is the feminine symbol of passage and salvation the world over.
