This classic jar by Laurie Rolland is made from smooth clay, glazed a lovely butter-yellow colour, and topped off with a removable lid. Great for storing cotton balls in the bathroom, coarse salt in the kitchen, or just used as a decorative object.
5 inches tall, 3 inches wide.
Since 1997, Laurie Rolland has used the metaphor of the boat (vessel: container/protector) as an expressive vehicle. A deep reverence for the natural world, combined with an interest in ancient earth-based religions informs this work, for the boat is the feminine symbol of passage and salvation the world over.
