This bowl by Liz de Beer features and extra-large fat rim surrounding a small center, making this a great dish for soup or pasta. The inside is glazed a deep glossy blue, and the outside and edges are patterned with an sgraffito technique.
The technique of sgraffito that Liz uses to create images on her work is done by applying a layer of slip to the item on which she then carves an image, much like the technique used in woodblock printing.
2.5" tall, 9" wide.
Liz de Beer offers a unique vision through her work that fuses elements of Africa and the West Coast. Her footprints can be traced back to Africa where she grew up and mastered the fine art of pottery.
