Pink Raku and Pine Needle Vase

by Linda Doherty

Earth and forest come together in this moody piece by Linda Doherty.  The pink raku-fired clay base is flecked with areas of cloudy grey, reminiscent of a summer evening.  The top is woven from textural pine needles coated with beeswax.

12 cm high, 17 cm across.

Linda Doherty has been working with clay for over 40 years.

Her methods of firing vary, from raku, pit and gas firing to crystalline and wood or salt firing.
