Black Raku and Pine Needle Vase

by Linda Doherty

Earth and forest come together in this moody piece by Linda Doherty.  The black raku-fired clay base is cloated with a semi-reflective glaze which catches the light and gives the piece a subtle, smoky luster.  The top is woven from textural pine needles coated with beeswax.

15 cm high, 8 cm across.

Linda Doherty has been working with clay for over 40 years.

Her methods of firing vary, from raku, pit and gas firing to crystalline and wood or salt firing.

All serving pieces are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe.
