Hanging Kelp Basket
Handwoven from sea kelp, Patty Dowler's oceanic treasures are a rustic and charming addition to any home. Patty sources her kelp right from the beach; it is then woven while wet, dried in the sun and lightly oiled to bring out the colour. She uses sea palm for handles and a variety of shells and other found objects to enhance the kelp's natural beauty.
This piece has a twisted kelp cord on the back, allowing it to be hung on a wall.
37 cm high, 19 cm across.
Patty Dowler has been making baskets for over three decades, and uses exclusively kelp and other found oceanic material.
