This little jar by Liz de Beer is etched outside with a textural brown motif of rustic animal shapes, and glazed a glossy pea-green inside. The perfect size to act as a salt cellar in the kitchen, hold cotton balls in the bathroom, or just to pretty up a spot that needs that little extra something.
The technique of sgraffito that Liz uses to create images on her work is done by applying a layer of slip to the item on which she then carves an image, much like the technique used in woodblock printing.
4" tall, 3" wide.
Liz de Beer offers a unique vision through her work that fuses elements of Africa and the West Coast. Her footprints can be traced back to Africa where she grew up and mastered the fine art of pottery.
