Woven Blanket/Shawl - "Locust"
Vanessa Cunningham's blanket-shawls are warm, rustic and beautiful. Made from 100% natural merino wool that Vanessa spins, dyes and weaves herself, each scarf features a different "extra" ingredient for added interest.
These pieces are big and thick enough to use as a shawl around your shoulders, or as a folded throw blanket on your sofa, bed or chair.
Each one contains a tiny easter egg: a 'name' made form re-purposed Scrabble tiles, each sewn into the blanket. The names are reminiscent of the colours Vanessa has chosen for each specific piece.
Contains: merino wool.
25 inches wide, 80 inches (6.5 feet) long.
Vanessa Cunningham began spinning and weaving when her Oma left her a 65" Glmakra loom and a collection of vintage fibers. She trained in Textile Arts at Capilano University in North Vancouver.
